Foundation Hires Intern
The Posey County Community Foundation would like to welcome Kyle Schmidt as their new Communications and Social Media Intern. Starting this summer, there are 6 terms available to be filled with interns spanning over a 2 year period. Kyle will be working to help the foundation with in a number of ways including: providing special event support, generating content for the website, generating content for the e-newsletters, generating content and administering the foundation’s Facebook page, and performing some administrative/office support for the foundation director. Kyle just finished his junior year at USI and is double-majoring in marketing and information systems. He graduated from North Posey High School in 2007 and has lived in Posey County all his life. Kyle would like to thank the Posey County Community Foundation Board of Trustees and the Lilly Endowment, Inc. for giving him this opportunity to develop his communication and marketing skills while working in an environment that gives back to its community. He says, “There’s no better cause than developing the community you live in and making it a better place for your children and everyone.” “The Foundation is deeply grateful to Lilly Endowment, Inc. for its generosity in providing the funding for the internships,” said Julie Eickhoff, Director of the Posey County Community Foundation. “Engaging students in meaningful work with the Foundation will increase their awareness of the important roles Community Foundations and philanthropy play in a community’s quality of life.” Funded by a $2.2 million Lilly Endowment Inc. grant, these positions are offered as part of the Community Foundation Internships (CFI) program, which will be administered through the GIFT (Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow) program at the Indiana Grantmakers Alliance. CFI will further the Endowment’s efforts to build healthy community foundations and provide high-quality internship opportunities in Indiana.
