Apply for a Scholarship
The Community Scholarship Program is active from November through June each school year. The information contained on this page is NOT to be considered current at any other time.
Before Getting Started
Please read all of the information provided on the Scholarships and Criteria page before beginning the process of completing your application. To apply for a scholarship through the Community Scholarship Program, you must submit the scholarship application form and all supplemental documents as instructed. If you have questions about any part of the scholarship process, please contact us.
Application Form
Complete all sections of the application form. The application form is designed to be completed on-screen and then submitted online. The form cannot be saved for retrieval at a later time, so you should not begin entering data until you can devote sufficient time to completing the entire form in one sitting. Some applicants find it helpful to print a blank copy of the form to complete by hand as time permits, and then use this "rough draft" to make completing the form online faster and easier. The application form is provided below:

Certification Form
The Community Scholarship Program Certification Form is designed to be printed, thoroughly reviewed, and then signed. You must have Adobe Reader to access this file (Adobe Reader is free and can be downloaded at http://www.adobe.com/dowloads). The Certification Form must be mailed or delivered to the Community Foundation office as one of the required supplemental documents. The form is provided below:

Determining Eligibility and Making Scholarship Selections
Read carefully the criteria for each scholarship listed on the Scholarships and Criteria page and ensure that you are eligible to apply and meet the criteria listed. In the Scholarship Application Form, you must check all scholarships for which you are applying. Only one Scholarship Application Form should be submitted, even if you are applying for multiple scholarships.
Financial Need
If a scholarship for which you are applying considers financial need in the selection process, the "Supplemental Requirements" section for that scholarship (as listed on the Scholarships and Criteria page) will indicate that you must complete the FAFSA4caster.
The FAFSA4caster is a tool designed by the United States Department of Education to provide an early estimation of a student's eligibility for financial aid. To access this tool, visit http://www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov/.
Follow the instructions for data entry as indicated on the FAFSA4caster website, print the FAFSA4caster Entry page (after entering your data and before clicking the Submit button) and the College Cost Worksheet page showing your calculated EFC (Expected Family Contribution) figure. Please use the "print preview" function prior to printing to ensure that all information contained in the documents is legible. You must write your name at the top of both documents and submit them as instructed below.
Official Grade Transcript
You must obtain your official grade transcript from your high school guidance counselor. The transcript must be submitted along with your other supplemental documents.
Compiling Supplemental Documents
Assemble any documents listed as "Supplemental Requirements" for the scholarships listed on the Scholarships and Criteria page. Please note that not all supplemental requirements are the same. Include supplemental documents only when they are listed as a requirement.
You must submit a separate set of supplemental documents for each scholarship for which you are applying. Use paperclips or binderclips to assemble your supplemental documents and be sure that your name and the name of the scholarship are clearly indicated at the top of each page. Supplemental documents submitted in a report cover or binder will not be accepted.
Submitting the Application and Supplemental Documents
Your application form must be submitted online by the application deadline. Unless otherwise noted on the Scholarships and Criteria page, mail or deliver your supplemental document(s) to arrive in the Community Foundation office by the application deadline between the hours of 9 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Required essays may be submitted electronically with the application form; however, all other supplemental documents must be mailed or delivered as instructed. Applicants are responsible for complying with all Community Scholarship Program instructions and for ensuring that all information provided is legible.
Submission Deadlines
Applications and supplemental documents are due on the date indicated for each scholarship listed on the Scholarships and Criteria page. If the date falls on a holiday or weekend, the application is due the preceding weekday.
